Extermination is a pervasive game that pits four players against six in a timed round of hide and seek and tag. Four of the players are Exterminators, whose role throughout the round is to capture all six Bugs before time is up.

Exterminators are determined by player choice using one of three options:

- Who has a job and gets paid the most
- Color of clothing
- Age

Each Exterminator has a set amount of Bug Bombs, which they use to capture any Bugs they find. Exterminators catch Bugs by land a shot with a Bug Bomb.

Any Bugs that are caught by an Exterminator, must go to "The Cage". To escape "The Cage," an already free Bug must come into "The Cage" to free all captured Bugs. For the Bugs to win, they must last 7 minutes with no Bugs in "The Cage" when the timer is up.
